Importing Data & Exporting Bundles
Bring a universe into Cronologies and save your work as a portable bundle.
Importing
Section titled “Importing”Use Add or the universe import controls to select a supported file or bundle. Review the import summary before continuing, especially when the incoming data may overlap with an existing universe.
Imported universes are stored in your browser and appear in the universe selector. They are not uploaded or shared automatically.
Exporting
Section titled “Exporting”Export creates a portable bundle containing the universe data and supported browser-based work, such as record edits, connections, ontology changes, and collections.
Use an exported bundle to:
- Back up work before clearing browser data or changing devices.
- Continue working in another browser.
- Share a universe with another Cronologies user.
Keep important exports somewhere durable. Browser storage alone should not be treated as a long-term backup.
Opening a shared bundle
Section titled “Opening a shared bundle”The recipient can import the bundle through the same universe import controls. It opens as a local universe in their browser, where they can explore it and continue editing.
