Edges & Ontology
Add connections between nodes and organize the category structure of a universe.
Edges represent relationships between nodes. Add or remove them from the editing tools to change which items appear connected in graph layouts and related-node lists.
When creating an edge, choose the source and destination carefully and add a relationship type or weight when the universe provides those fields. The resulting connection becomes available throughout the exploration views.
Dimensions and ontology
Section titled “Dimensions and ontology”Dimensions describe the major ways a universe can be grouped, such as Genre, Creator, or Location. Their values can form a hierarchy, allowing broad categories to contain more specific ones.
Use the ontology tools to:
- Add a custom dimension.
- Add or rename category values.
- Define parent and child relationships.
- Apply those values to nodes.
Changes are stored with your other browser-based edits and are included when you export a bundle. See Importing Data & Exporting Bundles.
